Terms and Conditions of Hire for Friars Cliff Beach Hut 14
By placing a booking for Friars Cliff Beach Hut 14 through our website, you (the "Hirer") enter into a binding agreement with us (the "Owner") and agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Booking and Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your chosen date(s).
The person making the booking must be at least 18 years of age and assumes full responsibility for all guests in their party.
You will receive a booking confirmation email once your payment has been successfully processed.
2. Access and Keys
Access details, including key collection instructions or lockbox codes, will be provided prior to your arrival.
The hut is available from 11:00 AM on the day of your booking and must be vacated, locked, and the a text sent to us by 8.00pm.
Lost locks will incur a replacement fee of £30 per lock.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy We understand that plans can change, so we have designed our cancellation policy to be fair while protecting our small business from the financial impact of empty days.
One month or more in advance: If you cancel your booking at least one calendar month prior to your scheduled arrival date, you are entitled to a 100% full refund.
Between 14 days and one month in advance: If you cancel your booking between 14 days (two weeks) and one calendar month prior to your arrival date, you will receive a 50% refund.
13 days or fewer in advance: If you cancel your booking 13 days or fewer before your scheduled arrival date, or fail to arrive, no refund will be issued, and you remain responsible for the full fee.
How to Cancel: Cancellations must be made in writing by emailing fcbh14@gmail.com. The time and date of receipt will determine the refund tier.
Weather Conditions: Bookings are non-refundable in the event of inclement weather unless conditions pose a severe danger (e.g., an official Met Office red weather warning for the area) or if the local council closes the promenade.
Cancellations by Us: In the highly unlikely event that we must cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances or damage to the hut, you will be notified immediately and issued a full 100% refund.
4. Use of the Beach Hut
Capacity: The maximum number of guests permitted at the hut at any one time is 6 people.
No Overnight Sleeping: Local council regulations strictly prohibit sleeping in the beach hut overnight.
Fires and BBQs: For safety reasons, no smoking, open flames, camping stoves, or BBQs are permitted inside the hut or directly on the wooden decking.
Noise and Nuisance: Please respect our neighbours. Music and noise must be kept to a reasonable volume and not cause a nuisance to surrounding beach hut users.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control. Please note that BCP Council enforces seasonal dog bans on certain sections of Friars Cliff beach between May and September.
5. Cleaning and Breakages
The hut must be left clean, tidy, and securely locked upon your departure.
Please ensure all washing up is done and the gas cooker is turned off at the bottle.
You are responsible for taking all of your rubbish with you or disposing of it in the public council bins provided on the promenade. Do not leave rubbish bags inside the hut.
You are liable for any damage or breakages caused to the hut or its contents during your hire period. Please report any accidental damage immediately so we can fix it for the next guest.
6. Liability
The Owner accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or theft of personal property belonging to the Hirer or their guests during the hire period.
The Owner accepts no responsibility for any personal injury sustained by the Hirer or their guests in or around the beach hut, except where such injury is caused by the negligence of the Owner.

Cancellation Policy for Friars Cliff Beach Hut 14
When you confirm a booking for Friars Cliff Beach Hut 14, you are entering into a binding agreement. We understand that plans can change, so we have designed our cancellation policy to be as fair as possible while protecting our small business from the financial impact of empty days.
Please read the following cancellation tiers carefully:
1. Cancellations made one calendar month or more in advance If you notify us that you need to cancel your booking at least one calendar month prior to your scheduled arrival date, you are entitled to a 100% full refund of the booking fee.
2. Cancellations made between 14 days and one month in advance If you cancel your booking between 14 days (two weeks) and one calendar month prior to your scheduled arrival date, you will receive a 50% refund. The remaining 50% is retained to cover the administrative costs and the reduced likelihood of re-letting the hut at short notice.
3. Cancellations made 13 days or fewer in advance If you cancel your booking 13 days or fewer before your scheduled arrival date, or if you fail to arrive on the day (a "no-show"), no refund will be issued. You will remain responsible for the full booking fee. At this late stage, it is highly unlikely we will be able to secure a replacement booking.
How to Cancel To request a cancellation, you must contact us directly via fcbhut14@gmail.com or by replying to your booking confirmation email. The date and time we receive your written notification will determine the refund tier applied.
